Residential Living Program

CADES, a long-standing nonprofit organization serving individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, undertook a critical renovation initiative for its Residential Living Program—a network of scattered site homes located throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania. These homes have supported adults with disabilities for over 60 years, offering 24/7 care and comprehensive rehabilitative services.

Due to limited funding, many of the residences had not been renovated in nearly two decades. To address this, CADES pursued funding through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh’s Affordable Housing Program (FHLB AHP) to carry out essential renovations.

Stone Sherick Consulting Group (operating as Sherick Project Management, Inc. at the time) played a key role in the success of this initiative. Specifically, Stone Sherick:

  • Prepared and submitted the full FHLB AHP application on behalf of CADES.
  • Responded to all questions and compliance requests during the FHLB’s feasibility review process.
  • Provided strategic consulting and project management, ensuring that all aspects of the application aligned with the program’s requirements and CADES’s long-term goals.

Through its leadership and technical assistance, Stone Sherick ensured that CADES’s application was both competitive and compliant, supporting the continuation of a vital housing resource for one of the region’s most vulnerable populations.
